Customer care advisor swaps two wheels for four
Customers who listen to the calm voice of Pebley Beach service advisor Kurtis Drew might be surprised at the 19-year-old’s weekend passion.
Because there’s nothing the teenager likes better than to ride his motorcycle around a racing circuit, at speeds of up to 170mph.
The adrenalin junkie rides a 600cc Yamaha R6 in the Thundersport GB league, and dreams of being a British Superbikes champion.
But from Monday to Friday, he swaps two wheels for four, helping customers with their enquiries at the Swindon Hyundai and Suzuki car dealership.
Kurtis calls between 20 and 30 Pebley customers every day to remind them that services are due to be carried out, or MoTs need to be booked.
He’s also one of the first ports of call for customers calling in with an enquiry, and if queries get too technical he can rely on someone close by with years of experience servicing cars: he shares an office with his dad, Mike.
“I like helping people,” said Kurtis. “I enjoy finding solutions to their problems.”
And does he enjoy sharing an office with his father?
“We have a great working relationship and he’s a brilliant mentor, although it took some getting used to calling him ‘Mike’ instead of ‘dad’!”
Managing director Dominic Threlfall is delighted at how quickly the former Cirencester Deer Park pupil has settled in.
“Kurtis is a great addition to the team, and we know our customers appreciate a service or MoT reminder from Kurtis, which is all part of our award-winning customer service experience.”
