Here at Pebley Beach we’re extremely proud to support the government funded Motability Scheme. This scheme supports those living with a disability to become more mobile by exchanging their Motability allowance for a lease on a mode of transport, such as a car.

As a Suzuki and Hyundai Retailer, we have a wide selection of cars available on the Motability scheme, including some that start from Nil Advance Payment – which means you’ll pay nothing upfront. You could also choose one of our Motability Hybrids, which reduce CO2 emissions and improve fuel efficiency, helping to keep your running cost down.

What is Motability

Motability is a government-funded scheme designed to allow disabled people and their families greater autonomy in their personal transport. Utilising the Mobility Allowance benefit, customers of the scheme are able to purchase a modified vehicle from a specialist Retailer at a reduced cost. The programme has been running since 1978, and since that time has provided more than three and a half million cars to disabled customers across the country.

Eligibility for the scheme is dependent on the type of Mobility Allowance the customer receives. If you are currently in receipt of one of the list of approved benefits, with at least 12 months' award length left, you may well qualify for the scheme – contact our Motability specialists below for full details

How it works?

You can simply exchange all, or part of your mobility allowance to lease the vehicle of your choice. You choose the vehicle you want at a price that works for you, and payments are deducted directly from your allowance every four weeks. Leasing is usually over a 3–5-year period. To keep things simple, we take care of all the below running costs that way all you need to do, is add fuel and get on with your day:

Insurance (for up to three named drivers for cars and WAVs)
Servicing, maintenance and repairs due to general wear
Breakdown cover
Tyre repair and replacement
Windscreen repairs
Adaptations made to the car tailored to your requirements

How to get a Motability car

Signing up for a car through Pebley Beach under the Motability Scheme is easy. Firstly, have a look at the range of Hyundai and Suzuki cars available with Motability below, and once you’ve decided on the right one for you, you can then contact the Pebley Beach Motability specialist to arrange a test drive.

You'll just need to bring:

Both parts of your driving licence (to take a test drive)
Certificate of entitlement from either DWP or SPVA
Proof of address, (e.g. a recent utility bill or bank statement)

About Dom

I joined the company in 1991, initially to caretake a petrol filling station in Swindon, fairly quickly I was tasked with centralising admin functions and stock control, which enabled us to build the business up to 6 petrol sites in and around the Swindon area. In 1997 I also started to get involved with the car side of the business. It was a small operation selling around 80 new cars per annum. With a dedicated team we built it up to the 2nd largest Suzuki business in the UK within 4 years. I had taken over the day to day running of the business by the end of 1997 and 4 years later we added our Cirencester site, then 2 years later the Hyundai business. In 2011 I relocated our 2 Swindon operations into 1 purpose built site, now known as "West Swindon Motor Park." I like to think we are a well respect local business with morals that takes car of it customers, staff and the local community. We support lots of local organisations and in 2014 we have won numerous high profile local and national awards.
