Celebrations at Pebley Beach as Suzuki is named Most Reliable Brand
Staff at Swindon's Suzuki dealer Pebley Beach are celebrating after the brand was named the most reliable in the UK.
In the What Car? magazine annual vehicle reliability survey, Suzuki came top with an overall reliability score of 97.7 percent across its range – ahead of Lexus and Toyota.
Meanwhile the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross jointly claimed the top spot in the car models category with the Toyota Yaris – both garnered a fault-free perfect score of 100 percent.
What Car? revealed ratings for 159 models spanning 31 brands based on data from more than 18,000 car owners in the 2018 Reliability Survey.
Steve Huntingford, editor of What Car?, said: “Reliability is a huge consideration for any prospective car buyer, as your car is likely to be your second biggest monthly expense after mortgage or rent payments.
"You want your car to last and you don’t want to have to fork out huge amounts to fix faults and keep it running."
Commenting on the perfect score of the S-Cross, he said: "Not a single S-Cross caused its owner any trouble, making this not only one of our favourite budget small SUV’s but also the class’s most reliable car.
"Many owners told us the thing they like best about their S-Cross is its durability.”
Dominic Threfall, managing director of Pebley Beach, said: "The S-Cross was a hit with our customers from its launch in 2006, and its relaunch as a mini SUV – the SX4 S-Cross – in 2013 has attracted even more fans.
"We knew the model was reliable, but its 100-percent rating delighted us."
